The Hinze Dam Interpretive Space opened December 2011 in the Gold Coast hinterland. ToadShow took the project from the scoping stage all the way through to production and installation.
ToadShow’s content development department conducted extensive research into the natural and human history of the area, dam construction, technology and water itself. We then presented this information in 96 touchscreen pages, a short film, numerous internal and external panels, as well as fun interactives.
The Weather Makers interactive includes hands-on explanations of temperature, humidity, condensation and clouds as well as tracked information on weather, rainfall and dam levels.
The Water Cycle is a pedal-powered interactive that demonstrates the water cycle.
ToadShow also created a time lapse of the construction process of Hinze Dam Stage 3 using thousands of high-resolution photos taken throughout construction.
The Hinze Dam Interpretive Space has more than 100,000 visitors a year. The time lapse video has been particularly popular amongst visitors.
