Working with Bundaberg Regional Council, ToadShow participated in the planning, creation, production and installation of displays at the Hinkler Hall of Aviation in Bundaberg.
The Hall provides a platform for exploring the Hinkler story through an extensive archive, which includes replica aircraft, historical objects, memorabilia and photographs.
A highlight of the Hinkler Hall of Aviation is the six metre high globe theatrette. Inside visitors can watch a documentary film about the life of Bert Hinkler. Outside, a light installation made from hundreds of LED lights, shows the paths of Hinkler's record-breaking flights.
Interactives allow visitors to glide like Bert over Mon Repos beach, or fly the Avro Avian over Bundaberg. The Hall also contains interpretive panels, kiosks and other displays illustrating many aspect's of Hinkler's life and achievements, footage of the time and eye witness accounts.
Hinkler Hall of Aviation opened in December 2008. It won Best New Tourism Development in the Bundaberg North Burnett Regional Tourism Awards and was a finalist in the 2009 Queensland Tourism Awards.
