Remembering Damien

All of us here at ToadShow were shocked and deeply saddened when our friend and colleague Damien Ledwich died last week. While he had been suffering serious health problems for some time, his death at the age of 60 was unexpected.

Damien was the graphic designer for all ToadShow's theatre shows in the 1980s and 1990s. In November 1986 he was one of the founders of ToadShow Pty Ltd. Damien worked as the lead designer on all ToadShow's major projects. We will miss his intelligence, his wonderful talent and his constant friendship.

Graduating from University of Queensland in 1976 with a Bachelor of Design Studies, Damien's began designing music posters for 4ZZZ and working on early issues of Cane Toad Times.

Damien was a gifted animator. His animated film Feral Television won the Yoram Gross Animation Award for the best Australian animated short film in 1991.

His funeral service will be held at 11:30am Thursday 30 March Holy Family Catholic Church 37 Ward St Indooroopilly.

A memorial will be held at 3pm Thursday 20 April at the Princess Theatre 8 Annerley Rd Woolloongabba where there will be a screening of Feral Television. Please RSVP to Andrew Fraser at fraseragk@gmail.com.
