The historic Queensland Club is celebrating its sesquicentenary with a commemorative book.
ToadShow director, Anne Jones, advised the Club throughout the process that took more than 2 years to final publication.
Graphic designer, Sasha Middleton, designed the 132-page book which is fully illustrated with historic and contemporary photographs.
Written by club member and former president, Dr John Campbell, the book contains a history of the club, amusing anecdotes, biographies of all the presidents and a list of all members.
In addition to the main run of casebound copies, the club also ordered a leather-bound collectors edition which sold out immediately.
ToadShow's role was to advise on the entire publication process from the initial concept through to final published book.
Anne Jones said she enjoyed the project enormously.
"It was a great privilege to work on the project. The club members who worked on the book were very dedicated to making a book that was not only a tribute to the club but lively and interesting for members to enjoy," Anne said.
While searching the club vaults for photographs, the ToadShow found a "Suggestions Book" dating from the nineteenth century.
"Sasha had the wonderful idea of using pages from the suggestions book as the endpapers. This not only gives the book an historic feel, it provides a small window into nineteenth century life," Anne said.
