Redcliffe Museum

Located next to historic Humpybong Creek, the Redcliffe Museum is housed in a former church that was re-fitted for its new purpose of telling the story of the history of the Redcliffe community. The Redcliffe City Council commissioned Interpretive Solutions to design and manage the project, which covers a period of time reaching back from the 21st-century to the arrival of Europeans in 1824, and back to the days of Aboriginal settlement.

The Museum opened in 2001 and includes artefacts from the Ningy Ningy people (the original aboriginal people of the district), remnants from convict days, its settlement and development, and contemporary ‘secret places’.

The project achieved a remarkable level of rich content for a small community-based museum with a modest development budget.
